Tragic Irony/Verbal Irony
Tragic Irony Dramatic irony in a tragic drama
An example of tragic irony and verbal irony would be when Pieces says that he will be there at Victor's Wedding. However, he really means that he will be there to kill Victor's bride. This example is tragic because Pieces kills someone who Victor loves. Of course Pieces killed many others before Elizabeth, however, this example is very significant among the others because he kills her after the wedding. The example is considered to be a tragic irony also because we kind of knew that Pieces was planning to do something when he told Victor that he will be at the wedding. However, we don't know his intentions.
