Dramatic Irony
Dramatic Irony Irony that is inherent on speeches or a situation of a drama and is understood by the audience but not grasped by the characters in the play.
An example of dramatic irony in the book would be the killing of William by Justine Moritz. Justine Moritz has always been a sweet, loving girl and everyone in the story knows that. The audience and, most importantly, Victor know for a fact that she did not commit the murder and that is was the creation, or Pieces, that Victor had created. However, the rest of the characters int he book do not believe so and do believe that Justine is not innocent and should be condemned. |
